Apple Roll Ups

INGREDIENTS:

Apple Roll Ups

Peanut Butter Spread
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey*
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Roll-Ups
4 medium apples, cored and sliced
12 whole wheat tortillas

EQUIPMENT:

Medium mixing bowl
Spoon (for mixing)
Knife and plate OR apple slicer
Plate

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wash hands with soap and warm water. Wash fruit well.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together yogurt, peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. On a plate, cut apple into medium-sized pieces. Leave skin on apples.

  1. Build roll ups by placing a heaping spoonful (about 2 tablespoons) of the peanut butter spread and a few slices of apple in the center of each whole wheat tortilla.
  2. Roll it up like a burrito. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  3. Serve immediately.

*Honey should not be fed to infants less than one year of age. (Note: Substitute agave or maple syrup.)

Mix It Up!

  • Pack it for lunch. Pack apple slices, tortilla, and spread separately to keep the roll-up from getting soggy.
  • Make it simple! Take a whole wheat tortilla and add peanut butter and apple slices.
  • Try different types of fruit like pears or bananas.
  • Have it for any meal! Try it for breakfast, snack, or lunch.
