About the Garden Kitchen

We empower Pima County residents to build community wellness and make healthier choices through food, fitness, and gardening education.”

Policy, Systems, and Environmental Changes: Our team works to implement Policy, Systems, and Environmental changes throughout Pima County. By changing policies, systems and/or environments, communities can help tackle health issues like obesity, diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases by making it easier for all community members to make healthy food and activity choices.

Events: Our Second Saturdays at The Garden Kitchen are held monthly at The Garden Kitchen.  At these events we offer a physical activity class, a food demonstration (you get to try all the food and take home the recipes!) and a gardening class.  Check out the Events tab to see what is coming up on the next second Saturday of the month!

Community Partnerships: We partner with a variety of organizations throughout Pima County to make changes in the community. In these partnerships we provide guidance, resources, and technical assistance to help make healthy choices practical and available to all community members.  When this work is done at a policy or systems level, the change can have a longer lasting effect and result in a new environment, where healthy choices are more accessible to everyone.  Through coalition work, direct partnerships, and trainings, we seek to expand our reach and support wider community efforts, to improve health and wellness for all.
