INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cups frozen or fresh fruit
1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey* (optional)
2 tablespoons nuts (walnuts, almonds, or other)
Sprinkle of ground cinnamon
EQUIPMENT:
Small bowl
Rubber spatula
Dry measuring cups
Measuring spoons
DIRECTIONS:
- Wash hands with soap and warm water. Wash fresh fruit (if using).
- In a small bowl, place 3/4 cup yogurt and 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (if using).
- Top with 1/2 cup frozen or fresh fruit and 2 tablespoons nuts. (Tip: For best results, allow frozen fruit to thaw in the parfait for 10 minutes to soften.)
- Dust the top with ground cinnamon and serve.
*Honey should not be fed to infants less than one year of age. (Note: Substitute agave or maple syrup.)
Mix It Up!
- Instead of nuts, use granola.
- Try any variety of nuts like walnuts, almonds, or pecans!
- Use plain Greek yogurt instead for added protein.
