 1 cup whole grain Teff
 3 cups water
 1 tablespoon butter
 ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
 ¾ cup dried figs, chopped or other dried fruit
 ¼ teaspoon salt
 3 tablespoons honey* or sugar
 ½ cup walnuts or other nuts, chopped (optional)

1.Wash hands well with soap and warm water

2.Whisk together Teff, water, butter, spices and dried fruit in a large saucepan over high heat.

3.Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer.

4.Continue cooking, whisking often to prevent lumps from forming, about 15 minutes.

5.Stir in salt, honey, and walnuts.

6.Serve immediately. Enjoy!

*Honey should not be fed to infants less than one year of age
