 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats*
 ¼ cup chopped dried fruit (apricots, dates, figs, cranberries, raisins— or a mixture)
 ¼ cup chopped almonds or walnuts
 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
 1 pinch ground nutmeg
 1 cup milk, milk substitute, or juice

Wash hands with warm soapy water.

In a medium bowl, mix together oats, dried fruit, nuts, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pour in milk or juice. Stir, cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, divide muesli among 4 bowls.

Serve immediately or keep refrigerated for up to five days.

*Optional: Toast the oats first on a baking sheet in the oven for 10
minutes at 350°F.

Note: Top with apple slices or a ¼ cup of plain yogurt.
