Steps with Friends or Family
Grab a pedometer and go for a walk with a friend or family member and log your steps after the walk. Remember your dog counts as family too!
Steps and Jumps
Jump rope for 5 or more minutes. Check your pedometers after you finish jumping. Repeat the activity and try to complete more steps the second time.
Family Dance Time
Select a time each week where the family turns on the music and does their own thing. Record the number of steps taken.
Step Around the House
Draw a map of your house. Write down the number of steps it takes to go from one from one room to another.

Pass the Pedometer Walk
Take a walk with one or more family members of friends and use one pedometer. Every 5 minutes, the person wearing the pedometer looks at the step count and passes the pedometer to another person. Other members of the group try to guess how many steps were taken....

Wear your pedometer while playing a sport such as basketball or soccer, football. Notice which sports you total more steps on the pedometer than others.

Hopscotch Variation
Instead of just hopping across the pattern that you created, try doing other loco motor movements such as running, skipping, jogging, or walking. Can you jump backwards through the maze? Try using a jump rope while going through the patterns.
