 1 package active dry yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
 1 teaspoon sugar
 1 cup warm water
 1 cup white flour
 1½ cups whole wheat flour
 ½ teaspoon salt

Wash hands with soap and warm water.

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Lightly spray pizza pan or cookie sheet with non-stick vegetable oil. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Set aside for 5 minutes.

In a separate large bowl, combine remaining ingredients (except oil).

Make a well in flour, pour yeast mixture in, and mix until dough ball is formed.

On a clean, lightly floured surface, knead dough until smooth, 8-10 minutes.

(Optional Step) Set in a clean bowl, cover dough with plastic wrap and set in a warm place until doubled, approximately 1 hour.

Shape dough into one 12-14 inch pizza crust. Set on pizza pan, top with sauce and toppings, and bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden.

Serve immediately.
